A deputy in El Paso County used a Taser on a man early Wednesday morning after the man, who was accused of biting a woman, bit the deputy, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to a call of a disturbance in the 1100 block of Chiricahua Loop, east of Colorado Springs, at 3:45 a.m. When they arrived, a 30-year-old woman told them she had been bitten during an argument with the suspect, who was not there.

The woman was taken to a local hospital, and a deputy stayed at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said. About 4:30 a.m., a man fitting the suspect’s description arrived, and when the deputy tried to talk to him, the man “turned and began to fight with the deputy,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

“During the fight, the suspect bit the deputy on the forearm,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “The deputy deployed his Taser and was able to control the suspect until additional deputies could respond.”

Timothy Gaby, 21, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault on a peace officer and third-degree assault.
