GOLDEN, Colo.—A Colorado Springs man who is an administrator with USA Wrestling faces charges of using the Internet try to lure a child into having sex.
Forty-nine-year-old Mark Scott was arrested Monday and is scheduled to appear in Jefferson County Court Friday in Golden to be advised of the felony charges against him.
Scott’s Bond was set at $25,000. Jefferson County district attorney’s spokeswoman Pam Russell said Scott was still in jail Wednesday. No attorney was listed for him.
USA Wrestling spokesman Gary Abbott says Scott has been placed on leave. Scott is director of state services for the Colorado Springs-based organization.
Scott is accused of having sexually explicit conversations online with someone he thought was a teenage girl under 15. A sheriff’s deputy was posing as the girl.
