LONGMONT, Colo.—An addiction treatment center in Longmont will close later this month, blaming the poor economy.

The Next Step is a nonprofit agency that says it can’t maintain funding in the recession. The center will stop seeing patients July 18 and will close its doors July 31.

The treatment center specialized in outpatient treatment. Executive director Terry Rousey said the center’s donors simply don’t have enough money to contribute anymore.
