Five people were taken to the hospital early this morning after two cars collided in a Denver intersection.
The crash happened at about 1:20 a.m. at the corner of Corona Street and East Colfax Avenue, said Sonny Jackson, a Denver police spokesman.
After one of the vehicles ran a red light, the cars collided and one hit a street pole.
One person was seriously injured, Jackson said, and all the occupants in both vehicles were taken in for medical treatment.
Investigators suspect both drivers of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Jackson said.
The crash remains under investigation.
Police did not name anyone involved in the crash. Details about the injuries were not available.
