A Delta man was killed today after losing control of his sport utility vehicle.
The man was identified by the Colorado State Patrol as William Hammer, 21.
Hammer was driving eastbound on 25 Mesa Road about 3 ½ miles west of Roubideau Canyon Road today when his SUV traveled off the right side of the road, authorities said. Hammer then overcorrected, causing the SUV to spin counter-clockwise. After leaving the left side of the road the maroon 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled four times, ejecting and killing Hammer, police said.
