The Colorado Asphalt Pavement Association is warning consumers about a scam involving door-to-door salesman quoting low-cost prices on asphalt paving for driveways.
The scams have been reported in Jefferson County and in small communities in eastern and southern Colorado. Warning signs are: claims that the asphalt is “leftover” from another project, deals that seem too good to be true, contractors that require cash-only terms, one-time-offer price quotes, contractors with out-of-state license plates, and door-to-door sales. To find reputable contractors, contact the local Better Business Bureau at 303-758-2100.
