Gov. Bill Ritter on Friday appointed Michael Cheroutes and Gary Reiff, both of Denver, as new members of the Colorado Transportation Commission.

Cheroutes is a lawyer with Hogan & Hartson and worked on crafting Senate Bill 108, the FASTER transportation measure approved by Colorado legislators this year. Reiff is chief operating officer and chief legal officer for Black Creek Group/ Dividend Capital Group, a collection of real estate investment companies.

Ritter also reappointed three current members of the commission: Doug Aden of Grand Junction, Steve Parker of Durango and Gilbert Ortiz Sr. of Pueblo. The terms for all five expire in July 2013.
