DOVE CREEK, Colo.—Crews have built containment lines around 45 percent of an 8-square-mile wildfire burning 12 miles southeast of Dove Creek.
The fire started Friday, possibly by lightning, and spread quickly through a canyon in southwest Colorado. A fire lookout and a cabin were evacuated because of the blaze but no homes are threatened.
About 250 firefighters are battling the wildfire.
In northwestern Colorado, a 5 1/2 square mile wildfire five miles south of Dinosaur was fully contained on Monday.
