HONOLULU—University of Colorado football player Sione Tau (see-OHN’-ee / towe) has been suspended for the fall semester for violating an unspecified team rule.

No additional details were released.

The 21-year-old sophomore offensive lineman will miss his second consecutive season in the program. He has been excused from all team activities.

Tau is a 2007 graduate of Damien Memorial High School in Honolulu.

He’s expected to return to active status with the Buffaloes in January.
