The Jefferson County school board selected Robin Johnson as the new board member, filling the seat left vacant when board president Scott Benefield resigned in June for personal reasons.
Johnson lives in Arvada, has three children in Jefferson County schools and has been active in the district’s parent-teacher organization.
She will take the oath of office at 6 p.m. at the Sept. 3 board meeting. As an appointee, she will have to run for election in November from District 1.
The board has also reorganized, electing Sue Marinelli president and Rick Rush secretary/treasurer.
