DENVER—Dave Gaouette has been appointed U.S. Attorney for Colorado, a position that will become permanent in four months if nobody else is nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
Gaouette has served as acting U.S. Attorney since Troy Eid resigned in January. Gaouette has been with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Colorado for 20 years. He began his law enforcement career as police officer in Lakewood, where he worked while earning his law degree from the University of Denver.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced the appointment Thursday.
