Two wheels and a $500 fundraising pledge are all it takes to join the fight against breast cancer Saturday in one of the most beautiful settings in the state. But it helps if you look good in pink.

More than 400 cyclists participated in the only century ride dedicated exclusively to fighting breast cancer last year, and organizers of this weekend’s Aspen/Snowmass Ride for the Cure are hoping even more will take part in 2009. Fully supported rides include 10, 30, 50 and 100 miles, including sag wagons, medical and mechanical services, and even cheerleaders to encourage cyclists on the route from Snowmass Village through Aspen, Woody Creek and Old Snowmass.

Participants get a dinner Friday night, breakfast and lunch Saturday and a finish-line party with free drinks, food, massages and live music. Money raised supports the Aspen affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
