The FBI’s “Shaggy Bandit” struck again today, robbing the First Bank branch at 4271 South Buckley Road in Aurora, which authorities think is his 12th bank job since June 24.
He is called the Shaggy Bandit because of his resemblance to the character Shaggy in the cartoon “Scooby Doo” cartoons and movies.
He is suspected of robbing 11 banks in Colorado and one in Arizona, several of the banks inside grocery stores, according to the FBI.
The robber doesn’t show a weapon but typically carries a dark-colored backpack.
He is described as being in his late 20s or early 30s. He has a slim build and has been described as being between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall.
Anyone with information can call the FBI at 303-629-7171 or quality for a $2,000 reward by calling Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
