Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association and 700 other electricity cooperations are launching a multimillion-dollar, national energy-efficiency campaign.

About $1.5 million has been spent to develop the television, radio and print campaign, and several million dollars more will be spent on buying airtime and ad space, said Jim Van Someren, a Tri-State spokesman.

The “Together We Save” campaign is being overseen by the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, which represents a nationwide alliance of local, consumer-owned electric cooperatives in 46 states.
