Two suspects were arrested Tuesday night in the stabbing of a Castle Rock man during a home invasion a day earlier.

A 21-year-old man, who was not named, and a 14-year-old male were accompanied during the home invasion by two other male juveniles, who had not been arrested as of 10 p.m., according to a statement from Castle Rock investigators.

The assault, thought to be part of a botched burglary, happened about 7:30 p.m.

Homeowner David Parrish, 55, confronted the burglars and was stabbed in the stomach, police said. His attackers ran from the home after the assault, police said.

Parrish was rushed to Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, where he remained in stable condition late Tuesday.

Castle Rock police said earlier in the day that they had asked for the help of the Doug las County School District.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 303-663-6100.
