Gold-mining mecca. All week the town of Victor, located 46 mile west of Colorado Springs and 5 miles south of Cripple Creek, has been hosting working artists in anticipation of the 10th annual “en plein air” art show and sale today through Monday. Organizers say the town is a magnet for painters looking to capture its Old West vibe and picturesque mountain scenery. Many of their works will be available at the sale. Artists also take over the town’s streets to paint during the free event, which takes place at the Elks Hall Ballroom, Third Street and Diamond Avenue. Additional events include the “Brush Rush” timed competition at 9:30 a.m. Sunday and the Wallace Park “Quick Draw and Sell” at 9:30 a.m. Monday. Details at , or call 719-689-2602 or 303-781-2643.
