“There are many reasons to oppose the proposed health care reform: further government intrusion into our lives, an attack on competition/capitalism; but the most urgent is the loss of life. All taxpayers would be required to pay for abortions. This nation was founded on the right to life. While there is no provision for public funding of abortions, there is nothing to prevent it, which would then allow for subsidized, taxpayer-funded abortions.
“There have been several bipartisan amendments that would specifically remove abortion from the health care debate. Each has been defeated.
“In addition, the conscience rights of health care providers who oppose abortion have been weakened. Americans don’t want to pay for abortions. Sadly, mothers can choose to kill their babies, but don’t force taxpayers to pick up the bill.”
