DENVER—A man who authorities say stole identities off tax returns that he prepared for clients has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Sixty-three-year-old Terry Paul Dorman pleaded guilty in July to theft, identity theft, securities fraud, and tax evasion.
Attorney General John Suthers on Friday announced Dorman’s sentencing.
An indictment said Dorman used clients’ personal information off tax returns to open several lines of credit and enter into a leasing agreement. He also convinced tax clients and others to invest in a restaurant venture in Lone Tree, according to the indictment.
Authorities say Dorman falsely claimed he was an accountantr.
