Ahmad Wais Afzali, 37, the Queens imam linked to a terrorism investigation involving two Aurora men, enlisted the help of one- time radio personality and high-profile lawyer-to-the- underdog Ron Kuby.
Kuby helped defend one of the men involved in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, according to The Associated Press. He is also referenced in the cult-hit film “The Big Lebowski,” in a scene in which “The Dude,” a character played by Jeff Bridges, is detained in Malibu Beach. He asks for representation from Ron Kuby or his now-deceased former partner William Kunstler. The Denver Post
