“I am in an individual marketplace and have seen my insurance rates go up 15 percent, or 12 percent a year for a decade. They have doubled since 2000.

“At the highest levels, why isn’t there the level of outrage about the 18,000 people who die each year because they don’t have access to health care as there was for the 9/11 victims. Where is the moral outrage? The lack of it doesn’t seem as American as I think we are.

“We really need the cost of insurance to go down. The lack of coverage is a symptom. The problem is that coverage costs too much.”
