KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Brodie Croyle has a much higher quarterback rating and a better completion percentage, but Matt Cassel has a bigger guaranteed contract. Guess who will start for the Chiefs on Sunday. It will be Cassel facing the Eagles in Philadelphia, coach Todd Haley said Tuesday. But the rookie head coach also said he would not hesitate to make a switch if he decided Croyle gives the winless Chiefs a better chance.

“You’ve got to ultimately do what you think gives your team the best chance to win,” Haley said. “If that means another quarterback being in there other than Matt Cassel, then sign me up.”

In Sunday’s loss to the Raiders, Cassel went 24-of-39 for 241 yards, a completion percentage of 61.5. His quarterback rating was 66.3. Croyle, as Cassel’s injured left knee continued to mend, hit 16-of-24 for 177 yards and two touchdowns the week before at Baltimore. Croyle threw two TD passes and did not throw an interception while compiling a rating of 116.1.

Brady target of lawsuit

NEW YORK — Two photographers sued Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bundchen for $1 million, saying they were shot at during a postwedding party in Costa Rica.

The lawsuit alleged the photographers and the Agence France-Presse news agency were harmed by the early April attack during a celebration at Bundchen’s holiday home. AFP photographer Yuri Cortez and photographer Rolando Aviles of Costa Rican national daily newspaper Al Dia say Bundchen’s bodyguards narrowly missed their heads when the guards shot at their car after they refused to give up their cameras and memory cards. No one was struck by the bullets, but the lawsuit said Cortez and Aviles suffered physical injuries and mental anguish that continues. The lawsuit said neither of them was a paparazzo.

• The Patriots obtained linebacker Prescott Burgess from the Ravens for a conditional seventh-round draft pick.

The Panthers signed former Broncos defensive lineman Antwon Burton to replace Louis Leonard, who broke his left ankle in Sunday’s loss to Atlanta.

• The Chargers signed defensive tackle Alfonso Boone to help fill the void created when Jamal Williams suffered a season-ending triceps injury in a victory over the Raiders.

• Buccaneers safety Jermaine Phillips will miss the remainder of the season with a broken left thumb.

• The Rams signed Danny Amendola off the Eagles’ practice squad and waived fellow wide receiver Derek Stanley.

• Tight end Martin Rucker, a fourth-round selection in 2008, was waived by the Browns, along with defensive back Marquis Floyd.

• The Cowboys signed running back Chauncey Washington to their practice squad, two days after starter Marion Barber suffered a quadriceps injury. The Associated Press
