LOVELAND, Colo.—A crash in Loveland sent a Fort Collins police officer and a teen to the hospital for treatment.
The Loveland Police Department says Fort Collins officer David Kaes was trying to divert traffic away from an earlier accident Thursday. Police say Kaes had just pulled his car into the northbound lane of Wilson Avenue when it was struck by a pickup truck driven by 18-year-old Alec Frerichs of Loveland.
Kaes and a 17-year-old passenger in Frerichs’ truck were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. The accident was under investigation.
