GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A teen who was arrested in a potential threat against Palisade High School is accused of trying to acquire explosives.
Eighteen-year-old Robert Dell Johnson appeared in court on Thursday to be charged.
Mesa County district attorney Pete Hautzinger said Johnson was charged with solicitation to commit possession of an explosive or incendiary device, a felony. He was also charged with interfering with staff or students at a school, a misdemeanor.
He faces up to nine years in prison if convicted.
Johnson’s attorney declined comment.
No details about the potential threat have been released. Documents in the case have been sealed since his arrest last week but they may become public next week.
