DENVER—The Colorado Supreme Court’s Attorney Regulation Counsel is petitioning for a lawyer charged with grand theft in Florida to be suspended from practicing law in Colorado, pending disciplinary proceedings.

A petition filed Friday says Brevard County sheriff’s officials in Florida arrested Mark Henderson Brady of American Heritage Title Co. in Durango last December. It says he is charged with grand theft, misappropriating escrow account funds, uttering a forged check and forgery on allegations he wrote checks on a business escrow account to pay his casino debts.

Brady says all escrow funds that he is accused of misappropriating are still in the escrow accounts, and that he won’t settle for anything less than a dismissal of the charges.
