ASPEN, Colo.—Flu vaccination clinics in Aspen have been called off because the county is almost out of doses.
The county canceled three seasonal flu clincs coming up this week in Aspen and Snowmass. Authorities say they nearly ran out of doses after vaccinating 821 people last Wednesday.
The seasonsal flu vaccine is different from the swine flu vaccine. Aspen officials say the seasonal vaccines will still be available for seniors at a November clinic. Private clinics and physicians also had some vaccines available.
Liz Stark of Pitkin County community health services says there is plenty of vaccine, but shipping has been slowed by heavy demand.
