FRISCO, Colo.—Relatives of a man killed last year in a boating accident on Dillon Reservoir are suing the boat driver and the bar that served him alcohol before the fatal accident.
The family of Adam Brown are suing the Tiki Bar at the Frisco Marina, and Kevin Lukanski, who has pleaded guilty to boating under the influence and criminally negligent homicide.
Lukanski was driving a rented boat Aug. 6 and “doing donuts” on the reservoir when his friend Brown fell in and drowned. An autopsy showed Brown hit his head on the boat propeller. Lukanski was sentenced to two years in prison.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Denver, also names the city of Frisco. Damages sought were unspecified.
