Airlines serving Denver International Airport have announced travel waivers with a major winter storm predicted to pounce tonight through Thursday.
Frontier Airlines and United Airlines have instituted similar policies that allow changes without fees.
For customers who have already started travel, rules and restrictions regarding standard change fees, advance purchase, day or time applications, blackouts and minimum or maximum stay requirements have been waived. Origin and destination cities must remain the same. Changes must be made by midnight Thursday, and travel must be completed by Nov. 5.
Customers who haven’t begun travel may make one change to their plans without a change fee. All rescheduled travel may be subject to higher fares if it does not meet the original rule or booking class.
Frontier urges those with flexibility in their travel to consider traveling at an earlier time or date. Check for schedule availability.
Those interested in traveling on an earlier flight should call Frontier’s reservations center, 1-800-432-1359, or visit the ticket counter at the departure airport.
Frontier also has set up a Twitter account to provide real-time operational updates due to inclement weather. The account is .
United customers should check the status of their flights at or by calling 1-800-UNITED-1 (1-800-864-8331) for automated, up-to-the-minute flight arrival and departure information before leaving for the airport.
Southwest Airlines officials urge passengers to check for specific flight information.
Customers holding reservations in and out of Denver Wednesday and Thursday who want to alter travel plans may rebook in the original class of service or travel standby (within 14 days of their original date of travel between the original cities) without paying an additional charge.
