A man wanted in connection with a beating death in Pueblo in September was arrested Wednesday in Norfolk, Neb.

Jayson Oslund, 28, will face first-degree murder charges in the death of 18-year-old Matthew Maez, Pueblo police said.

Maez was found severely beaten in a vacant lot near Joplin and Fir streets in Pueblo on Sept. 5. He died later from his head injuries.

Oslund reportedly caught Maez breaking into his car during a party, chased him to the vacant lot, beat him and returned to a party to brag about it, according to Pueblo police.

Witnesses told police Oslund used a club in the attack.

Police said Oslund was located because of a Crime Stoppers tip. Joey Bunch, The Denver Post
