GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Mesa County voters have decided to extend term limits for the sheriff, district attorney and coroner, allowing them to serve three, four-year terms instead of two.

A citizens group supporting the measure on the ballot Tuesday said the offices suffer by changing leadership every eight years.

Voters had rejected a proposal in 2007 to remove all term limits from the sheriff’s office.
