A 60-year-old woman was in critical condition late Friday with severe burns on her face, arms and chest after a fire that destroyed her Aurora home.

Investigators haven’t officially determined what caused the fire on 1126 Xanadu St., near East Colfax Avenue and Interstate 225, but said it probably started in the back bedroom.

Firefighters entered the home and rescued the 60-year-old woman, who used an oxygen tank. Some of the oxygen tanks exploded during the blaze and blew out the back of the house, but no firefighters were injured.
