FORT COLLINS — Kim Mestdagh scored 21 points, including 16 in the second half, as the Rams opened the season 2-0 for the first time in six years.

Colorado 61, Cal-Irvine 56

BOULDER — After trailing by 14 points at halftime, Colorado outscored Cal-Irvine 42-23 as the Buffs rallied to win their home opener.

The rally tied for the third- largest comeback in team history. Brittany Spears led Colorado with 18 points and 14 rebounds, her first double- double of the season.

Montana State-Billings 91, CU-Colorado Springs 57

BILLINGS, Mont. — Billings’ Kalli Stanhope set a school- record with eight 3-pointers in the season opener for both teams.

ABERDEEN, S.D. — Ashley Arlen led all scorers with 21 points as Wayne State opened the Super 8 Tipoff Tournament with a rout.
