Colorado State at New Mexico, 4 p.m. Saturday, The Mtn.
For the record: The Lobos (0-10, 0-6 Mountain West) are coming off a 24-19 loss at home to BYU.
Streaking: New Mexico has dropped 14 straight games over two seasons and is 0-10 for the first time since the 0-11 1987 season. The Lobos have dropped 10 consecutive MWC games.
Who’s hot: QB Donovan Porterie, a senior coming off ACL surgery, has been one of the few bright spots. He moved into third place on the UNM career list with 6,334 yards of total offense.
Who’s not: Defense, once the most respected in the Mountain West, left town with former coach Rocky Long. The Lobos are yielding 35.3 points and 422 yards a game.
Key stat: CSU and New Mexico have combined for 17 consecutive losses this season.
FYI: Porterie led New Mexico to wins over CSU as a freshman and sophomore. He was injured when CSU won the meeting last season. . . . Kicker James Aho hit the upright three times against BYU.
Coachspeak: “My team hasn’t quit. They won’t quit. We are going to show up here on Monday, business as usual, prepare ourselves for our seniors’ last opportunity to play here at University Stadium.” — New Mexico coach Mike Locksley
