Getting your player ready...

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA — The Avalanche tonight will get two key regulars back to its lineup — defenseman John-Michael Liles and forward T.J. Galiardi — against the Vancouver Canucks at General Motors Place.

Liles has recovered from his second shoulder injury of the season, and Galiardi returns at least a week earlier than originally forecast, from a high ankle sprain.

Galiardi, who sustained a broken ankle in his minor-league career, originally thought he’d suffered the same injury but it was just a sprain.

“I guess I’m lucky, healing fast,” Galiardi said. “We have some unbelievable trainers and they helped me get back earlier and I’m just excited about it.”

Avs captain Adam Foote will not play, because of a jaw injury suffered Tuesday in Calgary.

The Avs have lost their past two meetings with the Canucks by a combined 11-2, including an 8-2 loss Saturday in Denver.

“We need to come out and have a better start than we did against them last game,” said goalie Craig Anderson, who will get the start. “We came out slow last time. We have to be ready this time.”
