DENVER—Joe Colborne scored two of Denver’s three second-period power-play goals and North Dakota’s tying goal with 44 seconds left was waved off as the Pioneers rallied past North Dakota 3-2 Saturday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

The third-ranked Pioneers (8-3-1, 6-6-1 WCHA) swept the two-game weekend series with the Fighting Sioux (7-4-1, 5-4-1), winning 1-0 behind Marc Cheverie’s shutout on Friday.

North Dakota went up 2-0 on Saturday before penalties let Denver back into the game. Skating most of the period with a man advantage, Denver outshot the Sioux 22-7 in the period.

Kyle Ostrow’s power-play goal at 8:33 broke a 2-2 tie. Colborne created the deadlock with power-play goals at 1:09 and 5:22 of the second period.
