ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The U.S. Postal Service on Friday reversed a decision to drop a Santa Claus letter program that has thrilled children from around the world for decades.

Volunteers from North Pole, Alaska, respond to thousands of letters addressed to “Santa Claus, North Pole” each year. The letters will now be answered under tightened privacy rules implemented by the Postal Service in response to security concerns.
