DirecTV Group Inc., the largest U.S. satellite-TV provider, won a judge’s approval to settle an investors lawsuit over its combination with Douglas County- based Liberty Entertainment Inc.
California-based DirecTV was sued in May by stockholders, including the Key West Police & Fire Pension Fund, who asked a Delaware Chancery Court judge to bar the transaction as inadequate.
“The settlement is fair, reasonable and adequate, and it is in the best interests of the class,” Judge Donald Parsons Jr. said Wednesday in approving the settlement at a hearing in Wilmington, Del.
