VAIL, Colo.—Police have arrested a Vail man suspected of stabbing his roommate with a knife.

Vail Police Chief Dwight Henninger says 27-year-old Javier Huicar-Villa faces a felony assault charge. A phone number for him was unlisted.

An officer who stopped a vehicle on Interstate 70 around 1:35 a.m. Friday noticed the driver had been stabbed and learned that the 33-year-old man had had a fight with his roommate. Officers later found Huicar-Villa near the Vail Village Transportation Center and arrested him.

Police say the roommate, whose name wasn’t released, was treated at a hospital for multiple stab wounds and was released.
