LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska offensive coordinator Shawn Watson says it will be critical for the Cornhuskers to hold an advantage in time of possession in Saturday’s Big 12 championship game against third-ranked and unbeaten Texas.

The Longhorns are third nationally in scoring at 43 points a game, and Heisman Trophy contender Colt McCoy is sixth in total offense at 308 yards.

Watson said after Tuesday’s practice that the Huskers’ running game is as good as it’s been all season now that Roy Helu Jr. and Rex Burkhead are healthy.

Watson said the Huskers will continue with the conservative game plan they’ve been using because of injuries and youth on offense.
