BOULDER, Colo.—Police in Boulder say five high school students are recovering after overdosing on medication that one student brought to class.

Police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley says officers were called to Justice High School on Wednesday on a report that the students had overdosed on drugs and were throwing up. She says none suffered lasting effects or had to be admitted to a hospital.

Huntley said Thursday that investigators determined that one girl had brought some of her mother’s prescription anti-inflammatory medication to give to a friend, and other students decided to take it to get high.

No criminal charges are expected.
