DENVER—Passenger traffic at Denver International Airport was down 1.3 percent in October from a year ago to about 4.1 million travelers.
Aviation Manager Kim Day said Friday that the dip is lower than the 2 percent drop airport officials expected. She says overall traffic for 2009 is expected to be about 2 percent to 2.5 percent lower than last year due to the sagging economy and cuts in airline capacity.
For the year, about 42.4 million passengers used the airport through October. That’s down 2.4 percent from the nearly 43.5 million who used the airport during the same time last year.
