Kevin Ulanski scored with 46 seconds left to give the Colorado Eagles a 3-2 Central Hockey League win over the host Amarillo Gorillas on Friday. Ulanski received a cross-ice pass from defenseman Aaron Schneekloth and snapped a shot past Gorilla goalkeeper Mike Brown’s glove hand from the right circle.

Riley Nelson and Brett Lutes also scored for the Eagles, who got stellar goaltending from Mike Mole. He stopped 32-of-34 shots, including all 16 in the third period. The Eagles got 12 of a possible 14 points on their seven-game road trip and extended their lead in the Northern Conference. The Eagles return to Loveland tonight to play Southern Conference-leading Odessa.

AFA wrestling splits duals.

The Air Force wrestling team opened its season with a split in nonconference duals at Clune Arena, losing 35-3 to Ohio and beating Colorado Mines 33-13. Ohio went 2-0 with a 36-3 win over Mines.

The Falcons’ Derek Gillespie (141 pounds), Joseph Stafford (165) and James Ciccone (184) each got the maximum six team points with pins, as did Mines’ 133-pounder Chad Lousberg. Lousberg also got the Orediggers’ points in the loss to Ohio with a decision.
