NEB GOVERNMENT CARS

LINCOLN—A new report raises the question of whether Nebraska state government owns too many cars. Released on Monday by state auditor Mike Foley, the audit shows that from mid-2007 to mid-2008, there were 1,000 state passenger vehicles driven fewer than 6,000 miles. By Nate Jenkins.

NEB IMMIGRANT IMPACT

OMAHA—A new report says immigrants in Nebraska have a buying power of nearly $3.8 billion and are integral to the state’s economy as workers. The report issued Monday by the Washington-based Immigration Policy Center says those contributions and others mean Nebraska’s foreign-born population will play a critical role in the state’s economic recovery.
