Action sports addicts can get a free fix at the annual Dew Tour stop in Breckenridge this weekend. The first major freeski superpipe competition of the season kicks off in the Peak 8 pipe with qualifying from 1-4 p.m. Thursday before shifting into high gear under the lights at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Snowboarders will do their pipe routines Friday and Saturday mornings, culminating with finals that begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday (men at 12:30 p.m.). Sunday is dedicated to slopestyle for skiers and snowboarders at the Freeway Terrain Park on Peak 8.
A festival village set up near the gondola will offer in-town entertainment throughout the four-day event. After hours, be sure to check out Colorado natives OneRepublic in concert at the Riverwalk Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Five dollars of every $22 ticket purchased will be donated to SOS Outreach, a Vail Valley-based nonprofit organization that builds character and self-esteem in youth through outdoor activities.
