Sheridan police are investigating a robbery of a Family Dollar Store last night in which an employee was hospitalized after he was injured, authorities say.
The store employee, who was beaten or struck with some object, was taken by fellow employees to Swedish Medical Center, said Sgt. Paul Wszolek, Sheridan police spokesman.
Police are seeking information about two suspects described as black men wearing light colored clothing, Wszolek said.
Police were called last night at 8:50 p.m. about a man running down the street carrying a shotgun near the store on the 4100 block of South Federal Boulevard, he said.
While police were rushing to the scene they received another report that the Family Dollar Store may have been robbed.
When they reached the store, there was nobody inside. Police found blood on the floor. They later learned that two employees had rushed a fellow worker to the hospital.
“There had been some type of scuffle,” Wszolek said.
He said he does not know how much money was taken during the robbery if any.
Police are working today to determine whether the store captured videotape of the robbery, he said.
