Three men robbed a couple at gunpoint in the parking lot of a Denver check-cashing business this morning and fled in a brown or tan van, police say.

A robbery victim was injured when the suspects fired a gun and debris struck him, said Joe Ramirez, Denver police spokesman.

Two of the suspects were armed with handguns during the 9:07 a.m. robbery at 232 S. Sheridan Blvd., Ramirez said.

The suspects took a woman’s purse and items they found inside the car of the man and woman who were robbed, he said.
