Apple Inc. kept chief executive Steve Jobs’ compensation at $1 this year while four other members of his management team each received $100,000 raises in salary after the board decided they were underpaid.
Jobs didn’t receive a bonus or any stock awards in 2009, Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple said Wednesday in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The Harvard Business Review this week named Jobs the best-performing CEO, praising him for delivering a 3,188 percent return to investors during his tenure. Jobs, 54, has attracted buyers with redesigned Mac models as well as new gadgets including the iPod and the iPhone. Bloomberg News
