VAIL, Colo.—A man accused in a fatal bar shooting in Vail is expected in court this week but his attorneys are asking for more time to prepare.
Richard “Rossi” Moreau is expected in court Wednesday for a hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence to put him on trial for the Nov. 7 shooting death of Carbondale physician Gary Bruce Kitching. Three others were wounded during the shooting at the Sandbar Sports Grill in Vail.
The 63-year-old Moreau faces charges that include first-degree murder.
Moreau’s attorneys have asked a judge to delay the hearing so they can go over evidence and prepare.
Witnesses told police the shootings happened after Moreau was escorted out of the bar because of an altercation.
Moreau is being held without bail.
