DENVER—A Colorado bridge that was closed over the South Platte River for emergency repairs has reopened.

The Colorado Department of Transportation reopened the 104th Avenue bridge northeast of Denver at 6:40 p.m. Thursday.

CDOT project engineer Steve Pineiro says most of the repairs are done, and the bridge is safe to reopen to traffic. He says traffic may be reduced to a single lane for a day or two next week until all the work is complete.

CDOT closed the bridge Nov. 16 after an inspection showed that the concrete around key portions of the bridge was rapidly deteriorating.

The repairs cost about $241,000.
