CHEYENNE — Animal-control officers continue to round up cats after they recovered 32 felines from a home in Cheyenne this week.

Authorities became aware of the cats Tuesday at the home of a 60-year-old man who had threatened to kill himself. Animal-control officials say the floor of the home was matted with feces and urine. The man voluntarily went to the hospital.

On Wednesday, officers found at least 10 more cats at another property owned by the man.

Rob Shank, manager of the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, says the house has boarded-up windows and no electricity. He said officers put out traps to try to capture the remaining cats.

The man’s identity has not been released. Shank said it hadn’t been determined whether he will face charges.
