CEDAR CITY, Utah—An elderly Colorado couple was killed instantly after drifting into the opposite lanes of Interstate-15 in southern Utah and colliding with a heavy pickup.
Utah highway troopers say Robert and Bednonna Moore died a mile north of Beaver near highway exit 112 on Wednesday.
He was 77, and she was 80.
Trooper Cameron Roden says the couple’s minivan slid off northbound lanes and crossed the highway median into southbound lanes and was met by a Dodge Ram pickup hauling a fifth-wheel trailer.
News video showed that the pickup had broadsided the van.
The occupants of the pickup were sent to Beaver Valley Hospital with minor injuries.
